Before she dies, May reveals that she knows he is Spider-Man and is proud of him. Following the capture of Wilson Fisk by Spider-Man, a masked gang known as the Inner Demons begins seizing Fisk’s illicit assets. Mary Jane and Spider-Man learn that the Demons are seeking something called Devil’s Breath. With the aid of Officer Jefferson Davis, Spider-Man thwarts a Demon attack. Jefferson is lauded for his heroism at a re-election event for Mayor Norman Osborn. The Demons attack the event, killing Jefferson and many other attendees.
Despite the disappointment, it’s unlikely that any DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would’ve been very exciting. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 follows Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they valiantly try to save New York, each other, and the ones they care for. Facing multiple iconic villains like Venom, Kraven the Hunter, and Lizard, their strength and resolve will be tested as they face these dangerous threats. This portion of the game later becomes the inspiration for one of the title’s most expansive collectibles, as players later on can find Marko’s Memories scattered throughout the city. He reveals to Peter that he is suffering from a neuromuscular disease that will inevitably immobilize him and that enhanced limbs will allow him to continue his work when his body fails.
After Peter viciously defeats the Hunters with his newly enhanced powers, Kraven develops an interest in hunting Peter personally. Eventually, Peter and Miles team up to take Venom down, but Harry is left in a coma as the symbiote is finally destroyed. This leads to two crucial scenes that will lead into Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, as Norman Osborn blames Peter for Harry’s situation and meets up with Dr. Otto Octavius to plan how to defeat him. Overall, the game is a phenomenal experience, and its 32 missions are all rich and full of content. The beginning of the game’s third act is arguably the most fun part of the game, as players take control of Venom/ Harry Osborn as he fights out of the Oscorp laboratory.
